Lisa is a marvelous hostess! We're so grateful that she put up with our visit and commotion during such a busy time at work. Thank you Lisa!
We had a 7:10 a.m. flight out of Heathrow Airport, but weren't as adventurous as Rick to sleep in the airport. Public transport couldn't get us there early enough (at least not dependably and safely), so we ordered a 4:00 a.m. cab. The price was surprisingly reasonable, and we got a nice trip through the city that we couldn't have experienced otherwise. Our driver was a Kurd from Iraq, and we had a fascinating conversation about his life there and in England.
We made it to the airport in plenty of time. We were glad to leave behind the luggage containing Lisa's quilt, heavy books, and items for Rick. We changed planes at Charles de Gaulle Airport and our flight to Tel Aviv departed with only minor delay. The French air traffic controllers' strike seemed to affect mostly non-French airlines.
Tel Aviv! We made it, and so did our luggage. We breezed through immigration. I guess we don't look suspicious. We caught a Nesher shuttle van to Jerusalem.

We're on our way!
Glad our driver knows where he is going!

Before we knew it, we were at our hotel and the sun was down. We went up to the 4th floor terrace for a view of the city, but we weren't sure what we were seeing.
The parking lot in the third photo is right next to the hotel. It's full of UN vehicles.
I'll amend this post when I get oriented. One more photo:
I am looking forward to future posts!
