We are scrambling to complete important parts of the dig and prepare to close the site for the season. I took only two photos: Pete with one of his finds. This is the top and handle to a juglet, found by Pete as he sorted through the mud from the cistern.

After finishing work at 1 p.m., we hurried to make it to the bank near our hotel. The bank closes at 2 p.m. and we needed a little cash to finish out our time in Israel. We made it just in time, then arrived back in our room to clean up and rest.
We ate dinner with one of the other diggers at a nearby Muslim hotel. We all had pasta dishes, a welcome change from our repetitive dig-site fare. The preferred location for hotel dining rooms seems to be on an upper floor, and this place was no exception. There were very few diners on Monday evening, but there was a birthday party. It turns out that the hotel owner's daughter was the birthday girl.
